Frequently asked questions

We keep you fully informed

When it comes to supporting children and young people, many questions often arise. To give you an initial overview, we have put together the most frequently asked questions and answers about our practice, our therapy services and how we work together. Our aim is to give you clarity and reassurance from the very beginning, so that you know exactly how we can work together to find the right path for your child.

We support children and young people with any form of neurodivergence, learning difficulties such as dyslexia (reading and spelling difficulties), dyscalculia, ADD, ADHD, concentration difficulties, school anxiety, mind blanks, perceptual and processing disorders, or emotional strain in everyday (school) life. Children who lack self-confidence or have problems with motivation can also benefit from our work.

Our support starts from preschool age, so that we can strengthen children early on and prepare them well for school. But even if difficulties only become apparent later, it is never too late to start with us: we accompany children and young people of all ages on their way to more joy in learning and greater self-confidence.

The first step is a no-obligation telephone consultation, in which we discuss your concerns together. We then arrange a trial session for your child, during which we look at their current learning level and their social and emotional development. Afterwards, we discuss the results and our observations with you in detail, share our view on possible next steps and give you room to decide in your own time whether you would like to register your child with us.

At PGL, we start with a consultation to get to know your concerns and your child's needs. After a trial session, we discuss with you the therapy goals we recommend, tailored individually to your child. The therapy combines learning, movement and social training. Through regular parent meetings, we stay in touch and adapt the support flexibly.

Every child is unique, so the length of our work together varies too. On average, we accompany families for about one to two years, to help your child achieve lasting learning success and greater self-confidence. Sometimes, however, the process may be shorter or longer. Through regular parent meetings, we stay in touch with you and decide together on the next steps.

As a rule, sessions take place once a week. For specific support needs or during more demanding phases of life, the frequency can be adjusted.

We know that every child needs help promptly. That is why we do everything we can to offer a suitable place quickly. If no appointments are available at short notice, we actively look for ways to shorten waiting times and get in touch as soon as an appointment becomes available.

The costs of support at our practice are usually paid privately. In some cases, however, public or institutional bodies may also contribute, for example as part of integration assistance (Eingliederungshilfe). Please clarify this directly with the responsible youth welfare office. If you wish, we are happy to work alongside existing measures and can draw on many years of experience.
